Merry Christmas ❤️

Father,

Before the activities for the day roll in, before the festivities begin, I just want to say Thank you.

In the last 21 years of my life, Christmas days meant food, drinks, rest, and messages. It’s different this year because my life is different. After all, without any doubt in my mind, it belongs to you. There were times when I didn’t take time on Christmas day to acknowledge the significance of the birth of your son, Jesus, but I feel bad when I think of how I never traced it back to you, the father who loves giving and in that, showed his unfathomable love by sending his only begotten son to die for me. ME.

Yesterday, my pastor said, “The God who has thousands of angels chose to sacrifice his only son.”

In all your wisdom, you knew. You knew he would come to be our guide, a blueprint to living this life, the word that flows out of our mouths and exudes power and authority, the key to a holy life; to our faith, our belief, our hope in you. A demonstration of how good you are, how big you are, how mighty you are. Of recent, I like to call you ‘the detailed God,' Job chapters 38, 39, 40, and 41 taught me.

Carefully planned, with the right reason, you crafted the course of this life, the one who sees the past, the present, and even beyond the future, the one who loved me before my mother knew me. So wonderfully and fearfully, you made me, watched over me, called me, ordained a will and purpose over my life, and stayed true.

I digress

Thank you, my Father, for the gift of your son, Jesus, the one sacrifice that defines my life as a Christian, that has given me the sweet holy spirit—my healer, my comforter, my guide, my all in all. For the privilege to be washed with the precious blood of your son, for mercies that are renewed every morning, a strict yet loving father, a jealous God, lol, believe me, I know.

Thank you for breaking the boundary and giving us not just your son, but his name, which grants us undeniable access to you, that breaks chains and opens doors, that causes negative spirits to flee, such privilege, I wish they knew.

I wish I did too, sometimes it can be hard, but it’s a chance to be grateful too; remember when I talked about belief and hope? In your son, Jesus, we have reassurance. All glory, praise, and honor be to your holy name.

In Jesus’ name.

Thank you, Jesus. For coming down to earth to die for my sins, thank you for persevering, even me, I waver sometimes—would I have dropped the cross the minute they used a whip on me? Most definitely. I can be dramatic, I probably would’ve waved my hands and shouted “Cut!” before leaving the scene. It must’ve been hard but you did it anyway. You’re the real OG.

Happy birthday, I love you❤️
